Athletes Going Nude for PETA

Athletes are no less famous than celebs in term of a public figures. Everything they do can set a trendsetter or attract public opinions. That's why it's important for them to do social activities to become a role model for the younger generation.

There are some athletes which choose a bold way to do a social work. That is posed with no clothes on for PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). Among these brave athletes are NFL Atlanta Falcon's Tony Gonzales and Olympic gold medals swimmer Amanda Beard.

The Reasons

The football sensation, Tony Gonzales, and his wife October are baring it all in a PETA ad to tell people to wear their own skin and let animals keep theirs. In the ad, Tony and October say "we'd rather go naked than wear fur."
I’ve never done something like this before. I’m usually not a political person…the pictures I saw were pretty gruesome, pretty cruel. If done the right way, maybe. But done the way I saw it, it’s definitely inhumane.
The 10-time Pro Bowler, who holds the NFL record for most receptions by a tight end, is taking the campaign seriously (as he should), and has made changes to his diet, “I eat a little meat now, but it comes from clean sources: grass-fed cows, free-range chickens, wild fish, stuff like that,” he said. “I’m OK with it as long as you do it humanely.”

While for Amanda Beard, posing like this is not for the first time. She done something bolder when she posed for the infamous "bunny" magazine, that has nothing to do with social activity of course.

First off, Amanda doesn’t want people to get the impression that she sheds her swimsuit at every single opportunity:
Like with Playboy, that was more of a personal reason. I wanted to do it, I thought it’d be fun and something I could look back on. And with PETA it was more for a good cause. And I’m not even really naked, I’m covering myself up, so I didn’t see all the fuss in that.
I hope in the future much more athletes (for me, especially the females) are dare to follow the footstep of these two. Not just going with the sexy thing, but much more social and charity activities to set examples for their fans.

Allison Stokke Unwanted Popularity

Sometimes, becoming an athlete is quite similar like becoming an actress or celebrity. You'll get fame and popularity like a superstar. Too bad, not every athlete wants this kind of popularity. Allison Stokke for example, she used to be just a usual teenager who's having a dream to become a professional pole vaulter. But, ever since her training photo leaked on the internet in 2007, Allison Stokke became the target for every perverts in the web world.

Allison Stokke, born March 22, 1989, was still 17 years old when her photograph was taken during a high school track meet, where she was preparing to compete in the pole vault, and someone posted it to a web site.

"Even if none of it is illegal, it just all feels really demeaning," Allison Stokke said. "I worked so hard for pole vaulting and all this other stuff, and it's almost like that doesn't matter. Nobody sees that. Nobody really sees me."

Allison Stokke isn't just a pretty girl; she's a pretty girl who happens to be a tremendous athlete. She was the California pole vaulting champion and is on scholarship at the University of California. She wanted to be known for her athletic accomplishments rather than purely for her looks.

At age 15, Allison Stokke won a California state championship, and broke several national records in her age division. As a senior at Newport Harbor High School, she set the second best mark in the nation for that calender year with a 13'7" vault. In the CIF State Championship finals she finished 4th after a leg injury interfered with her ability to sprint down the runway. After being highly recruited, Stokke now vaults for the University of California at Berkeley.

Football Fight

Just like Best Goal Celebrations, even it still happens on the field, but it is not part of the game officially, Football Fight.

What is in your mind, if I say "dangerous sport" ? Do you think about boxing? racing? or other kinds of extreme sport like snowboarding or climbing?

You aren't wrong, but I think you should consider the most popular sport in the world, Football or Soccer (how the American call it) is one of the dangerous sport too.

What makes football is one of the dangerous sport ?it's just because nowadays it is mixed with some kinds of martial art while they played it, so we call it Football Fight.

Even the stars of this sport like Maradona, Eric Cantona, Adriano, even Zinedine Zidane have involved in this Football Fight for once or even more.

If you watch these videos below you will believe it.

Officially it is football, in fact we have watched, it is more likely the mixed of footbal and martial art, isn't it?

Best Goal Celebrations

Now, I add a new category, Funny Stuff, which not connected to particular athlete, because it might be covers for numerous or unknown figures in sport. For the first post on this category I choose "Goal Celebration". I know it's still inside the match, but it's outside the technical aspects of the game. It's funny, entertaining, and sometime make your opponents angry. In fact, I think goal celebration also reflects the personality of the athlete itself. Someone is joyful, fun, and other is cool and calm and full of emotion.

For this first post, I give you the best goal celebration from football (soccer). Next time, I'll post from another sports like basketball, hockey, American football, or celebration of Indian players when they're set the new cricket world cup records.

Okay, if there's the best, there's the worst. This one is funny, someone who failed in goal celebration:
