Kareena Kapoor high on success after Bodyguard

The Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor film Bodyguard has broken the record of the Salman-Sonakshi Sinha movie Dabangg in just five days after its release.

Kareena is in seventh heaven. Back in the saddle as the No. 1 Bollywood diva, she says, I have three films on the list of the six highest grossing films in Hindi cinema. Bodyguard, 3-Idiots and Golmaal-3. I'm ecstatic.''

Kareena says Bodyguard has crossed 82 crore in just five days making it a mammoth hit and her biggest one. Trade sources say Bodyguard will not succeed in breaking the 3 Idiots overall record. But of course at this stage everything we speak on the subject is a conjecture.

As for Salman Khan, he is the No. 1 Khan and the No. 1 hero because he has Bodyguard, Dabangg and Ready on the list of the highest grossers. Aamir has 3 Idiots and Ghajini, while Ajay Devgn has Golmaal-3.

'Heroine' Kareena slashes fee, to share profits

Kareena Kapoor who had demanded a whopping Rs 10 crore from UTV for Heroine has settled for Rs 8 crore. But the actor would now be sharing profits with the producers. This makes Kareena the first ever female actor to enter this space.

"Kareena had earlier demanded Rs 8 crore. After several meetings, she has now decided to slash her fee. However, she will now be a part of the profit sharing rights. The producers have worked it out in a way that Kareena ends up getting Rs 8 crore out of the project," a source told Mumbai Mirror.

Kareena Kapoor would be the first female actor, to have signed a profit sharing agreement for a film. Earlier actors like Salman Khan, SRK, Aamir Khan and Imran Khan have been in similar arrangements.

We hope that Madhur's film is finally unjinxed!

Kareena Kapoor flies Saif Ali Khan to London for birthday?

Kareena Kapoor has reportedly secretly flown her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan to London for his birthday.

The actor celebrated his 41st birthday while staying at the exclusive Claridges hotel, according to The Times of India.

A source told the paper: "Last week they were shooting for Agent Vinod, but nobody knew what Kareena had planned for Saif's birthday. She requested Saif's production partner Dinesh Vijan for five days off from the shoot to whisk him off to London.

"This year, Saif's birthday plans have been kept completely quiet and nobody except their families know where they are. They are staying at their favourite hotel Claridges.

"Kareena even made all the arrangements for the birthday dinner on Tuesday night at an exclusive resto-bar in London."

The actress kept the plans lowkey because her boyfriend prefers to keep their personal lives private, the source said.

In June, it was rumoured that Kapoor would have her waxwork at Madame Tussauds unveiled on her boyfriend's birthday.

The pair are reportedly planning to get married by the end of 2012 and set an official engagement date around Valentine's Day.

Kareena's Lie Exposed

Unlike the tall claims being made, Bebo's wax statue won't be unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London but in a small English town. Even her look hasn't been finalised

For months on end, we were told that a wax statue of Kareena Kapoor was being prepared for the famous Madame Tussauds in London.

She was going to be immortalised in her Chameli avatar, and her statue would be unveiled on August 15, fortuitously just a day before beau Saif Ali Khan's 41st birthday. As it turns out, not everything is what it seems.

According to sources, the 'Chameli' look has not been finalised and her wax statue won't be displayed in the famous museum, but a new branch somewhere in Blackpool, a small town in north west England.

"Initially, the Kareena camp leaked reports that her wax statue was to be unveiled on August 15.

Now that the date is upon us, they are saying the event has been postponed to October and that the statue might be unveiled in Blackpool, " said a source, adding that no 'Chameli' look was ever finalised.

So far, six Indians have found place at Madame Tussauds, a museum of wax statues.

These include Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and early this year, Hrithik Roshan.

A person close to Kapoor requesting anonymity, claimed that while the statue will be unveiled in Blackpool, it will later be transported to the famous museum in London.

"Bebo's statue will be unveiled at a new Madame Tussauds in Blackpool and later transported to London. The idea is to start off a new Madame Tussauds in Blackpool with Bebo's statue, " he said.

On Kapoor's look for the statue, he agreed that none has been finalised.

"Designer Manish Malhotra was given the job of deciding Bebo's look at Madame Tussauds and he gave three options -- her characters in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met and Sudhir Mishra's Chameli. But the final look is yet to be decided."

Another friend of Kapoor's appeared angry at the insinuations that she has been generating the stories. "Bebo is not a nobody who needs to plant stories, trying to prove how she is in demand, " she said.

Kareena Kapoor remakes Mandakini wet sari scene

Kareena Kapoor has filmed a bathing sequence for new release Bodyguard.Filmed under a waterfall, the scene is inspired by Mandakini's translucent wet sari sequence in Ram Teri Ganga Maili.

Director Atul Agnihotri commented: "We shot the love song 'Teri Meri Prem Kahaani' with Salman Khan and Kareena recently. Kareena looked absolutely stunning in the sari.

"The audiences will surely enjoy the song and fall in love with her all over again."

The romantic track between Kapoor and Khan was completed in a three-day schedule at Mumbai's Film City.

Choreographer and Just Dance judge Vaibhavi Merchant worked with the actress on the production.

Mandakini retired from acting in 1999, marrying a Buddhist monk and becoming involved with the Tibetan movement in India.

Bodyguard, which unveiled its first teaser last month, is scheduled to release August 31.

Ritu Kumar to design Kareena wedding dress.

Kareena Kapoor has reportedly chosen Ritu Kumar to design her wedding dress.

The Ra.One star picked the designer to create an outfit for her planned wedding to Saif Ali Khan in early 2012, claims Mumbai Mirror.

"Ritu Kumar has a longstanding relationship with Saif's mum Sharmila Tagore, who has also walked the ramp for her on several occasions," a source told the newspaper.

"Kumar even photographed Sharmila and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi for her coffee table on the costumes and textiles of Indian royalty in the '90s, where Sharmila wore the traditional Bhopali farshi paijama and dupatta that she wore on her wedding day in December 1969."

The choice of Delhi-based Kumar has suprised many commentators, who had expected Kapoor to choose her friend, Bollywood costume designer Manish Malhotra.

Kapoor and Khan will reportedly announce an official date for their wedding in the next few weeks.

The couple will be seen together in upcoming spy action thriller Agent Vinod.

Priyanka Chopra receives Flying Kisses from Ranveer Singh

Ranvir Singh probably thinks his gimmicks will get him noticed and help him bag roles. After his crazy antics in front of Bebo, he tried another trick in front of Piggy Chops to get noticed. This time around, he definitely got noticed and heard an earful.

Some days ago, Ranvir started jumping like a kid in front of Kareena in the Yash Raj studios, where he came across her. Kareena Kapoor seems to have handled it with a cool head and attitude. But not Piggy Chops.

Priyanka and Ranvir met each other at an event. This time around, Ranvir gave Priyanka a flying kiss. Priyanka was embarrassed and was flushed with anger, said an onlooker. She even told Ranveer, politely but sternly, that she was his senior in the industry and it was not the way Ranvir should behave with his seniors.

Hopefully, this will put a stop to Ranvir’s tirades. It seems that despite having a hit debut movie (Band Baaja Baraat with Anushka Sharma) he isn’t getting much work, which is why he is resorting to such tactics to get noticed. Or maybe he is really starry eyed.

Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma has not only dumped him, but is also eyeing Ranbir Kapoor.

Imran Khan has Kareena Kapoor to thank for letting him have a Holi party this year.

However, Thursday evening his STS co-star Bebo fell unwell. Because of it the shoot had to be cancelled. Imran who had no plans initially, jumped the gun and decided to organise a Holi party for friends at his Bandra pad.

A source reveals, "Imran loves to play Holi. It's one of his favourite festivals. But due to his back to back shoots, he had given up on celebrating the festival this year.

When he got the news that his shoot for the Dharma film got cancelled due to Kareena falling ill. He checked on her health status, as the two have got extremely fond of each other during the shoot.

After that he decided to plan a last minute Holi party."
